Josephine A. Zaborowski

9/13/1929 – 8/10/2017

Passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mary Pelma; husband, Henry Zaborowski; daughter, Carol Wrozek; son, Steve Zaborowski; great grandson, Seth.  She is survived by 5 sons, Mark, Frank (Bonnie), Edward, Hank, Jim (Polly); sister, Delores (Frank) Kwiatek; brother, Philip Pelvan; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mom was primarily a stay at home mother, raising her 7 children in a very loving manner. She did work at various odd jobs throughout her life and was known as one of the better caterers in town. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and was active in several organizations.  She served office of ladies president and other titles for the Polish Federation, PNA, Polish Falcons and PLAV.  She was one of the original founders of the famous Falcon’s Fish Fries.  Known affectionately as “Mama Jo” throughout the Polish community.  She will be missed by many.  Special thanks to the staffs of Great Lakes Caring, Henry Ford Allegiance Health and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home and all the angels who served her during her brief stay. Josephine is at the Lauer Family Funeral Home in Jackson where her family will receive friends on Monday August 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11 AM at the Funeral Home.  Private interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be directed to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.

    Jo you were a spitfire and the rock of your beautiful family! You were loved and shared your sense of humor daily and your smile lite up a room. Jo you were known for your golumkies and fried chicken and catering days were the best. Jo I will miss you ???? and know God gained another angel through the gates of Heaven ????     I will always remember Jo’s unique ability to make me smile every time we had the chance to get together. I consider Jo’s passing a great loss to everyone who had the chance to know her and I will miss her.
